Lindsay makes her New York City principal debut in the role of Cindy Lou in CARMEN JONES at Classic Stage Company this summer! After seventy-five years since it debuted on Broadway, CARMEN JONES is being revived off-Broadway by a first-rate cast and creative team. CARMEN JONES tells the story of Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen reset with an all African-American cast at the height of the Second World War. It debuted on Broadway in 1943 and was turned into a movie starring Dorothy Dandridge and Harry Belafonte in 1954. CSC's production will star Anika Noni Rose (Tony for Best Featured Actress, the film Dreamgirls, Princess Tiana in Walt Disney Pictures’ 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog, BET’s The Quad) as Carmen, be directed by CSC's Tony Award-winning artistic director John Doyle (Broadway’s The Color Purple), choreographed by Tony Award winner and Kennedy Center Honors recipient Bill T. Jones, with music supervision and orchestrations by Joseph Joubert (Drama Desk Award nominee for Outstanding Orchestrations), feature scenic design by Tony Award winner Scott Pask, and costumes by Tony Award winner Ann Hould-Ward. Tickets are now on sale! CARMEN JONES begins performances on June 8th for a limited run that ends on July 29th.
